How to draw a manga girl

To draw an anime or manga-style face, start by sketching the basic head shape. Draw a circle, then make a vertical guideline down the middle of it. Sketch a horizontal guideline about one-third of the way up from the bottom of the circle to mark the level where the eyes will go.

Then, draw another horizontal line close to the bottom of the circle to mark the position of the nose. Measure the distance between the eye line and the nose line, then measure that same distance down from the nose line and draw a third horizontal line for the chin.

Next, sketch the jaw. The jawline should extend from the widest part of the circle down to the middle of the line you made for the chin on each side. If you’re drawing a child or a female character, make the jaw curved and the chin pointy.

For adult male characters, create a more angular jaw and a wider chin.
