Darshan Thoogudeepa’s iconic film Namma Preethiya Ramu is all set for a grand theatrical re-release. The film, which is regarded as one of the most defining movies of Darshan’s career, will hit the big screens again on February 14, just two days before his birthday on February 16.

Originally released in 2003, ‘Namma Preethiya Ramu’ was a major breakthrough for Darshan.
The film tells the heart-touching story of Ramu, a blind village singer, and his struggles in life. It stars Darshan in the lead role alongside Navya Natarajan, Hamsavijetha, Doddanna, and Umashree in pivotal roles. The film’s music was composed by the legendary Ilaiyaraaja, with lyrics penned by K.
Kalyan and Krishna Priya. Notably, except for the songs Dudilde and Badavana, all other tracks were adapted from Ilaiyaraaja’s Tamil film Kasi.
